John Forbes Kerry is in his way to be the democrat front-runner to challenge George W. and the other «chicken hawks» that had run from the Vietnam war stuck to the trousers of their fathers.
I would rather have a dinner with the articulate, educated and french speaking JFK (the alive kind) than with the rough and inarticulate George W.
What I’m not sure is who ought to be elected president of the United States, under the circumstances.
Muito provavelmente o adversário de George W. Bush irá ser o candidato democrata John Forbes Kerry. Para George W. é o pior que poderia acontecer, embora tudo ainda esteja por decidir e Kerry tenha algumas brechas por onde o spin doctor Rove irá tentar penetrar (ver aqui).
Se tivesse que ir jantar com um deles, não teria grandes dúvidas em preferir um JFK (o vivo) letrado, inteligente, com carácter, coragem (foi condecorado no Vietname, quando os então jovens neo-cons fugiram que nem baratas agarrados às calças dos pais).
A grande questão é que se é suficiente ser uma pessoa estimável para ser um bom presidente dos EU, nos dias que correm.
