CASE STUDY: Our Coventry-by-the-sea. The slow blitz.

The gifted English sisters Vitriolica and Majolica moaned in their masterpiece blog the destruction of Sesimbra as a paradigm of WHAT RUINS THE HERITAGE and HISTORICAL AESTHETIC VALUES of THIS FORMERLY GREAT NATION.

I agree. The destruction of this nice small fishing village, where I spent holidays two or three times 40 years ago, has been carried out by a herd of barbarians equal to nazis who destroyed Coventry during the night of 14 November 1940.
Equal? Not exactly. Sesimbra’s barbarians were much less skilled demolishers. They spent 35 years and they have needed the active cooperation of local authorities and the meekness of local folks.
